About Pelico
We are creating the factory of the future where disruptions are avoided, processes synchronized and value captured. Our factory operations management platform enables factory teams to be more agile and resilient in a world where supply chain disruptions occur every 16 minutes. Pelico empowers users to identify bottlenecks, avoid problems, and focus on innovation instead of fire-fighting. Since our foundation in 2019, we’ve partnered with industry leaders across aerospace, industrial equipment, and luxury watchmaking, revolutionizing factory operations in over 15 countries. Esteemed clients include Airbus, Safran, Cartier, Daikin, and Eaton.
Our Team
With a dynamic team of over 180 professionals across the US and France, Pelico is a melting pot of top-tier talent from Tech, Data Science, and Manufacturing domains.
Our collaborative environment fosters innovation and excellence, driving us to solve complex challenges and shape the future of manufacturing.
Our work has been recognized by Safran (Digital Transformation Award) and Microsoft (scale-up of the year).
Engineering turns Product ambition into scalable, reliable solutions that empower on-site operational teams.
We design a platform that handles high volumes, concurrent users, and complex workflows, while remaining modular, maintainable, and future-proof.
Your Missions
Pelico is hiring its first Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) — hands-on builders who thrive at the intersection of data engineering, AI-driven automation, and customer problem-solving. This role sits between data engineering, software engineering, and solution delivery, and requires strong Python/SQL capabilities paired with an AI-native mindset.
As an FDE, you’ll work directly with Pelico’s leadership and with our largest enterprise customers to deliver world-class AI implementations: standing up modern data stacks, building automated workflows, and deploying AI-powered agents that make operations teams dramatically more productive.
This is a technical role with massive ownership. You’ll write production code, design pipelines, meet customers, support go-to-market motions, and shape Pelico’s early product and delivery playbook. Within your first 30 days, you’ll meet customers, ship production-grade code, and contribute directly to strategic deployments.
What You’ll Do
Work hand-in-hand with customers to understand their systems (ERPs, MES, PLM, etc.) and translate business logic into scalable data models
Own end-to-end deployments, from scoping and ingestion to modeling, pipeline design, and production rollout
Build AI-powered data transformations using Python, Pandas, and LLM APIs to clean, integrate, and enrich complex, messy operational datasets
Design, optimize, and maintain end-to-end data infrastructure using potentially any hyperscaler, including Microsoft’s data platform (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Kubernetes), while integrating modern AI/ML tools and LLM APIs.
Prototype internal tools and AI agents that accelerate Pelico implementations and unlock new customer workflows
Support sales and customer success, joining technical calls, sizing implementations, and identifying expansion opportunities
Influence Pelico’s product roadmap, helping determine what to automate next, where to templatize, and how we scale implementations from 10 to 1,000 customers, besides building the 0 to 1 versions yourself
Who You Are
3+ years of experience as a data engineer, software engineer, ML engineer, or FDE-type role, ideally in a customer-facing or consulting environment
Full-stack data competency — from ingestion to modeling, warehousing, and productionization
Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data infrastructure (Snowflake, Airflow/Mage, DBT, AWS, etc.)
Experience working with messy operational and enterprise data (ERP, supply chain, manufacturing, field ops, etc.)
Excellent communication and business acumen — you can speak fluently with executives, engineers, and operators
Thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous, early-stage startup environment; you’re scrappy, action-oriented, and self-directed
Comfortable experimenting with AI, LLMs, and automation to eliminate manual work and accelerate delivery
Bonus Points
Experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, or Field Operations
Built internal data platforms, migration pipelines, or ETL/ELT frameworks
Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or other LLM APIs
Prior experience in Forward Deployed Engineering (Palantir-style) or enterprise implementations at scal
